    Creme Heliopolis Skin Cream Art Nouveau 1890’s

    $ 495

    HELIOPOLIS CRÈME – SKIN CREAM – Art Nouveau Skin Cream – 1890’s

    This charming chromolithograph from 1890 advertises Heliopolis Crème, a skin cream of the Belle Époque era. Two elegant ladies in flowing gowns are pictured outdoors, accompanied by a playful Cupid, symbolizing beauty, youth, and romance. The scene captures the aesthetic of late 19th-century advertising, where allegory and fashion were blended to elevate everyday products into aspirational luxuries.

    The design is distinctly Art Nouveau, with graceful lines, movement in the figures’ dresses, and a soft palette typical of Parisian poster art of the time. Printed by Imprimerie Sirven in Paris, a well-known printer of fine posters and ephemera, it represents the rise of decorative advertising art at the end of the century. This piece remains in excellent condition, mounted on linen for preservation.
