Original 1973 lithograph poster issued by the Foundation for American Dance for the Joffrey Ballet’s presentation of Parade, with costume and set designs by Pablo Picasso. The ballet was originally created in 1917 for Sergei Diaghilev’s Ballets Russes, with music by Erik Satie and choreography by Léonide Massine. Revived by the Joffrey Ballet at New York’s City Center in 1973, this production marked one of the great intersections of modern art, music, and dance. Picasso’s imagery and the history of Parade make this poster an important document of 20th-century performing arts, celebrating the collaboration between visual art and the stage.

Original large-format Folies Bergère poster by Erté (Romain de Tirtoff), created for La Nouvelle Revue de Hélène Martini at the celebrated Paris music hall. Issued by Éditions Martinet in the early 1970s, the poster announces Martini’s Folies Bergère production with staging and costumes by Michel Gyarmathy.
This example is the serigraph edition in grand 39 × 59 in format, capturing Erté’s Art Deco–inspired elegance in vibrant color and scale. Survives in Excellent “A” condition, unlined, with fresh color and no significant defects.

Description
Vintage travel poster produced by Western Airlines in 1979, featuring a chorus line of dancers in front of the Statue of Liberty and New York City skyline. Likely created to promote flights to New York, possibly timed with the popularity of the Broadway show A Chorus Line. Issued in large format and printed via offset lithography, this example is mounted on linen and in excellent “A” condition.  
Historical & Contextual Details
•Western Airlines was a major U.S. carrier from 1925 until its merger with Delta in 1987. The airline was known for its slogan “The only way to fly!”, and frequently featured landmark destinations in its advertising.
