Western Airlines — New York (Chorus Line) – 1979, 27 × 39 in
Description
Vintage travel poster produced by Western Airlines in 1979, featuring a chorus line of dancers in front of the Statue of Liberty and New York City skyline. Likely created to promote flights to New York, possibly timed with the popularity of the Broadway show A Chorus Line. Issued in large format and printed via offset lithography, this example is mounted on linen and in excellent “A” condition.  
Historical & Contextual Details
•Western Airlines was a major U.S. carrier from 1925 until its merger with Delta in 1987. The airline was known for its slogan “The only way to fly!”, and frequently featured landmark destinations in its advertising.

Poster collecting was the rage between 1895 and 1900 and Cheret made sure to supply the public with all the images of a selection of the best posters of the time. The printing was by way of Stone lithgoraphy and great attention was paid to quality. In Excellent condition
