An original 1906 French advertising poster by Leonetto Cappiello for Automobiles Charron, printed by Vercasson in Paris. This large-format stone lithograph (51 × 79 in.) is an important early work by Cappiello and one of the rarest automobile-related posters of the period. The design captures the luxury and style of the emerging motor age, showing a driver and elegant passenger in one of Charron’s distinctive early cars.
The poster is linen backed and graded B+ condition. It retains strong original colors. There are some folds and restorations, which are pictured, but in a frame these would not be noticeable. Overall it presents very well, particularly given the rarity and scale of the piece.

This original vintage poster was created in the early 1990s by Japanese artist Makoto Saito as part of a campaign to reposition Bénédictine, the historic French herbal liqueur, for a contemporary audience. Saito’s composition distills the essence of the brand into a striking, image-driven visual, consistent with his text-free graphic approach. The poster reflects both his minimalist aesthetic and his ability to merge Western commercial design with refined Japanese sensibility.
Makoto Saito (1952 – present) began his career as a printmaker before turning to poster design, and has described himself as a “poster designer” rather than a commercial artist. His work emphasizes the power of imagery over words, and has been exhibited internationally, including at the Museum of Modern Art in New York.
Bénédictine, first produced in the 19th century by Alexandre Le Grand in Fécamp, France, traces its origin to a 16th-century Benedictine monk, Dom Bernardo Vincelli, who was said to have devised the complex herbal recipe to restore the monks’ energy. The liqueur combines over 27 flowers, roots, herbs, and spices, and remains largely a guarded secret. In 1992 the brand was acquired by Bacardi, continuing its long heritage as one of France’s most enduring spirits.

Original vintage French advertising poster for Ryst Armagnac by Raymond Savignac (1907–2002). Savignac was one of the most recognized French poster artists of the 20th century and worked early in his career under the influence of the celebrated designer A. M. Cassandre before developing his own distinctive graphic style. His work is known for its clarity of design, effective simplicity, and subtle humor, characteristics that made his advertising imagery highly recognizable.
This poster was created to promote Ryst Armagnac. Armagnac is a traditional French brandy produced in the Gascony region in southwest France, notably in the departments of Gers, Landes, and Lot-et-Garonne. The RYST-DUPEYRON house was founded in 1905 by distiller Joseph Dupeyron to produce and market Armagnac from the region. Savignac’s work for advertising campaigns has become part of the visual heritage of French commercial art.
