Ferrara Mario Borgoni Italy – Mario Borgoni, an Italian artist known for his travel posters, designed the Ferrara poster as part of his promotional work for the Italian tourism industry and Enit the Italian Railways in 1928. Pictured is the Castello Estense (Este Castle) is a moated medieval fortress located in the center of Ferrara, Italy. It was built in 1385 by Niccolò II d’Este, the ruler of Ferrara, in response to a popular uprising. The castle was designed as both a military stronghold and a noble residence, with its massive defensive towers, drawbridges, and elegant interior halls.

Poster Gregg Skis by Sascha Maurer, produced in the 1950s to promote the Gregg brand of skis. Gregg was an American manufacturer based in St. Paul, Minnesota, active in the mid-20th century, known for producing wooden skis and equipment as skiing grew in popularity in the United States.
Sascha Maurer (1897–1961) was a German-born artist who emigrated to the United States and became recognized for his bold graphic posters. He created striking images for American railroads, airlines, and sporting goods companies, including ski equipment manufacturers such as Northland and Gregg. His posters are notable for their strong compositions and vivid color, capturing the energy of outdoor recreation during the postwar years.
This example, Gregg Skis, is mounted on linen and preserved in excellent condition.
Poster Cervinia by Arnaldo Musati, originally created in the 1950s and reissued in the 1970s. The design highlights the alpine resort of Breuil-Cervinia in the Aosta Valley, framed by the Matterhorn (Cervino), one of Europe’s most recognizable peaks. The image reflects mid-century Italian travel advertising, promoting Cervinia’s growth as a premier ski destination linked with Zermatt and known for its long ski seasons and high-altitude slopes.
Musati (1916–1988) was an Italian painter and graphic artist whose posters for Italian tourism captured the atmosphere of postwar leisure and regional identity. His work for Cervinia remains among the classic ski posters of the era.

All of the important artists of the period either joined the army or did artwork for the cause. Firmin Bouisset does this Emprunt for the London County and Westminster Bank with location in Paris at the famous Place Vendome. Bombs explode in the air while the Frenchman holds up his Helmut and the Scotsman and American who just entered the war are with him. We’ve got them on the Run. Excellent on linen

Wonderful scene of the French Soldier whose face we do not see, embracing his wife while his children come running to greet the homecoming hero. Georges Redon a famous artist of the period did these lithographic stone prints and signed and number them. RARE

Algeria was an important Colony of France where a great deal of the agriculture that came from Algeria to France. This poster shows a French Colonist with his Algerian partner standing in front a view on to the countryside full of the crops of Wheat Grapes fruits tomatoes and more. The tractor working the fields with the sea in the distance. Algeria was the largest area of production for the French.
