The image is of the bombing of the French Fleet docked at Mers-el-kebir at the beginning of the war when France fell to the Germans and the Vichy Government was working for the Germans. The Allies fearing that the fleet would be used by the germans against them decided to attack and destroy the fleet. Although only one battleship was sunk others were damaged and over 1297 French sailors perished. Rare and signed lithograph by one of France’s best marine artists.

Campari Soda was created by Carlo Fisanotti in 1948 and printed by Gros Monti, Torino. Issued in the years following World War II, the design reflects the early wave of Italian modernism that would come to dominate the 1950s in art, advertising, furniture, and automotive styling. Fisanotti’s composition is minimal yet striking, presenting the iconic Campari Soda bottle in a bold, graphic treatment that was ahead of its time for postwar commercial design.

Brewery History

Original 1900 Italian travel poster designed by Carlo Cussetti and printed at the Ateliers Hugo D’Alesi in Paris. This poster was created for the French public to promote travel to Italy, presenting finely detailed vignettes of Rome, Venice, Pompeii, Milan, and Florence around a central panoramic view of Rome. Cussetti, active at the turn of the century, captured the cultural prestige of Italy at a moment when tourism was being encouraged through large-scale advertising lithographs.
