Original poster Lugano Vendemmia by Daniel Buzzi, created in 1964 for the Festa della Vendemmia (Grape Harvest Festival) on Lake Lugano, Switzerland. Printed by Traub in Zurich, this lithograph measures 25 × 39 in. and has been professionally mounted on linen. Preserved in excellent “A” condition.
The Festa della Vendemmia was an annual autumn celebration in Lugano, highlighting the grape harvest with parades, music, costumes, and the tasting of wines from the Ticino region. The event became one of Lugano’s most popular festivals, drawing both locals and visitors to celebrate Swiss-Italian cultural traditions.
Daniel Buzzi (1914–1983) was a Swiss painter and graphic designer active in the mid-20th century. Known for his clear, bold poster compositions, Buzzi worked on cultural and commercial projects that helped shape modern Swiss poster design. This set was for STERN magazine The STERN set is sold as a complete set of 5 posters or can be sold as 4 color with or without the black and white banner included. The poster set is sold “individually” mounted on linen. They are included in POP ART shows and Museums all over the world and we have participated in both selling and loaning sets to Museums such as: Museum of Fine Arts Montreal, Museum of the Archives of The Hard Rock Cafe Orlando, Museum of the City of Musique Paris, and others. They were, and still are, an important icon of the 60’s. They are in mint condition.
The Schmidt’s beer poster from the early 1960s features a couple riding bicycles, each carrying a six-pack of Schmidt’s beer in their front baskets. The slogan reads, “Give your thirst a taste of life… Go… Schmidt’s of Philadelphia.”
