PABLO PICASSO — JOFFREY BALLET, PARADE (1973)

Original 1973 lithograph poster issued by the Foundation for American Dance for the Joffrey Ballet’s presentation of Parade, with costume and set designs by Pablo Picasso. The ballet was originally created in 1917 for Sergei Diaghilev’s Ballets Russes, with music by Erik Satie and choreography by Léonide Massine. Revived by the Joffrey Ballet at New York’s City Center in 1973, this production marked one of the great intersections of modern art, music, and dance.
