    Oberland Bernois – After Skiing Pleasure was created by Swiss artist Hans Falk in 1949 to promote winter holidays in the Bernese Oberland region. The design highlights the leisure side of skiing, encouraging visitors to enjoy the après-ski atmosphere as much as the slopes.

    The poster was printed by J.C. Müller AG, Zürich, using stone lithography, and measures 39.4 × 27.6 inches (100 × 70 cm). It was issued during the post-war expansion of Swiss winter tourism, when the Bernese Oberland was developing as an international ski destination with resorts such as Wengen, Grindelwald, and Mürren.

    Perhaps your PLM ticket included a horseback ride through the Bernese Alps with a view of the 4,158m-high Jungfrau. This elegant hiker meets local farmers dressed in traditional clothing, offering a fresh drink. The poster is in excellent condition on linen.

    Henri Ganier de Taconville created La Jungfrau around 1900. Courmont Frères in Paris printed this lithographic travel poster, promoting Switzerland’s Jungfrau region. It features a woman on horseback, accompanied by a man and two women, with snow-capped mountains in the background. The text includes La Jungfrau, P.L.M., and Billets à Prix Réduits, highlighting discounted travel fares.

    Taconville (1845–1936) specialized in travel posters, often working with Courmont Frères. His detailed artwork helped attract tourists in the early 20th century. Courmont Frères, a respected Parisian printing company, produced high-quality lithographic posters for travel and cultural events.

    This poster is a rare example of early travel advertising. It combines vivid imagery with promotional messaging, encouraging travelers to explore the beauty of the Swiss Alps.

The design features a fashionable lady skier in the foreground, with the electric mountain train and the Alps rising dramatically in the background — a classic image of postwar Swiss winter tourism.

    Printed in Bern by Laupen using lithography, the poster captures the style and energy of mid-century alpine travel advertising. This example is linen-backed and in excellent “A” condition.
