Original 1900 Italian travel poster designed by Carlo Cussetti and printed at the Ateliers Hugo D’Alesi in Paris. This poster was created for the French public to promote travel to Italy, presenting finely detailed vignettes of Rome, Venice, Pompeii, Milan, and Florence around a central panoramic view of Rome. Cussetti, active at the turn of the century, captured the cultural prestige of Italy at a moment when tourism was being encouraged through large-scale advertising lithographs.

NICE PIERRE COMBA C1910 LA REINE DE LA COTE D’AZUR BY
Nice, La Reine de la Côte d’Azur” translates to “Nice, the Queen of the South of France.” Pierre Comba created this poster, depicting a local woman dressed in the region’s fashion of that era. She stands with a view of the port, followed by the Promenade des Anglais stretching along the coast. Her hands hold flowers, used to produce French perfumes in Grasse, a nearby mountain town. Moullot Imprimerie, one of the most renowned printers with locations in Paris and Marseille, printed this poster. It remains in excellent condition on linen.
