Designed in 1909 by Italian artist Remo Fabbri, this lithograph promotes the Liquore del Reno, a liqueur produced by the Giulio Tartarini distillery in Pieve di Cento, Ferrara. The company was active in the early 20th century and proudly displayed its Grand Prix Medaglia d’Oro from the 1909 Florence exposition.
This attr. 1930 printing is in lithography, just as the original was, and depicts a finely dressed woman enjoying a glass of the liqueur, accompanied by elegant period typography.
The poster is linen-backed and in excellent condition, preserving both the design and printing quality.

Les Affiches etrangere was created by Jules Cheret at the Chaix imprimerie to celebrate the famous poster artists and their works of the time. Poster collecting was the rage between 1895 and 1900 and Cheret made sure to supply the public with all the images of a selection of the best posters of the time. Original small-format lithograph from the Les Maitres de l Affiche series, plate 20, reproducing H. G. Carqueville’s design for Lippincotts. Issued in Paris by Imprimerie Chaix in the late 1890s, this plate presents Carqueville’s cover illustration in the reduced format characteristic of the series, with the Les Maitres de l Affiche blind stamp in the lower margin. In excellent condition on linen, it is a clean, well-preserved example of American magazine advertising as presented to the European poster-collecting public.

Original lithographic plate from the publication Affiches Illustrees issued by Librairie Romantique and published by Boudet in 1896. The composition by Eugene Grasset depicts a woman dressed in black reading the publication “L’Age du Romantisme”. At her feet appears a vanitas motif, while in the background stands the Cathedral of Notre-Dame de Paris, shown after its 19th century neo-Gothic restoration by Viollet-le-Duc. The image reflects the melancholic spirit associated with the Romantic era.
