Poster by Bernard Villemot for Bally, first created in 1989. This example is from a later printing in the 1990s. Known as Bally Kick or Bally Globe, the design was issued in both large and small formats. The present example is the smaller size, offset lithograph.
Bernard Villemot (1911–1989) was one of the leading French poster artists of the postwar period. His simplified forms and bold use of color made his designs instantly recognizable. Villemot worked extensively with Perrier, Orangina, and Bally, producing some of the most enduring advertising images of the 20th century. Bally Kick represents his late work for the Swiss shoe company.
