Original 2002 advertising poster for Pineau des Charentes, created by American artist Susan Stewart. Stewart lived in France for many years and produced artwork for several of the well-known Cognac and Pineau companies of the region. This poster was commissioned as part of promotional work for Pineau des Charentes, the fortified wine traditionally produced in western France.
This is an authentic original poster for Pineau des Charentes, produced in 2002. Susan Stewart’s work for French Cognac and Pineau producers places her among the contemporary artists contributing to the long tradition of advertising design for French wine and spirits. The poster survives in excellent condition, mounted on linen, and represents both regional history and the career of an American artist active in France.
The piece was printed in 2002 on Canson paper using offset lithography. It is hand-signed by the artist, an uncommon feature that adds to its documentary interest.
