Original French advertising poster for Bonal Gentiane Quina designed by A.M. Cassandre. This example is the rarer pink background version of the design. The composition features a stylized figure drinking Bonal, with the liquid transforming into pink stars within the body. A key appears over the stomach, visually suggesting the idea promoted by the product: Bonal “opens the appetite.” The bold geometry and simplified forms are characteristic of Cassandre’s modernist approach to poster design.
Adolphe Mouron Cassandre (1901–1968) was one of the most important commercial artists of the twentieth century. A poster designer, painter, lithographer, and creator of typefaces, he combined influences from avant-garde movements such as Cubism, Surrealism, and Neue Sachlichkeit with the demands of commercial advertising. His work helped define the modern graphic language of the interwar period.

Original vintage French advertising poster for Ryst Armagnac by Raymond Savignac (1907–2002). Savignac was one of the most recognized French poster artists of the 20th century and worked early in his career under the influence of the celebrated designer A. M. Cassandre before developing his own distinctive graphic style. His work is known for its clarity of design, effective simplicity, and subtle humor, characteristics that made his advertising imagery highly recognizable.
This poster was created to promote Ryst Armagnac. Armagnac is a traditional French brandy produced in the Gascony region in southwest France, notably in the departments of Gers, Landes, and Lot-et-Garonne. The RYST-DUPEYRON house was founded in 1905 by distiller Joseph Dupeyron to produce and market Armagnac from the region. Savignac’s work for advertising campaigns has become part of the visual heritage of French commercial art.
This is an original printing.
