    Louise Balthy Alcazar d’ete — Cheret — 1893

Original lithograph by Jules Cheret, published in 1896 for Les Affiches Illustrées, the series produced at Imprimerie Chaix to document and celebrate the great poster designs of the Belle Époque. This plate reproduces Chéret’s 1893 poster for the Alcazar d’Été, featuring the celebrated performer Louise Balthy, whose appearances at Parisian music halls made her one of the stars of the era. Chéret captures her presence with flowing movement, bright color, and the lively visual rhythm characteristic of his best work.

Created during the height of poster collecting between 1895 and 1900, Les Affiches Illustrées offered high-quality stone-lithograph reductions printed with great care. This example is unlined, clean, and in excellent A condition.
