The richly detailed composition follows the journey from Territet on the lakeshore through Glion and Caux to the summit at 2,045 meters, with views of the mountain railway, Grand Hôtel des Rochers de Naye, Lake Geneva, steamboats and a château along the route. A particularly attractive turn-of-the-century image combining Alpine scenery, Belle Époque tourism and early railway travel.
