Original 1900 Italian travel poster designed by Carlo Cussetti and printed at the Ateliers Hugo D’Alesi in Paris. This poster was created for the French public to promote travel to Italy, presenting finely detailed vignettes of Rome, Venice, Pompeii, Milan, and Florence around a central panoramic view of Rome. Cussetti, active at the turn of the century, captured the cultural prestige of Italy at a moment when tourism was being encouraged through large-scale advertising lithographs.
This example is in excellent condition, professionally backed on linen. The colors remain rich and the imagery sharp, a testament to the quality of early 20th-century French lithographic printing.
