Travel poster for the Paris Lyon Mediterannee Railways Lines while is was still known jointly as the Chemins de Fer Paris. Beausoleil located in the French Cote D’azur. This printing method known as Chromolithography was used by only one or two printers at the turn of the century. The poster is highly sought after destination. On linen and in excellent condition.

Beautiful view on to Fontainebleau done in lithography at the Lucien Serre Imprimerie in Paris circa 1930. Lucien Serre was perhaps the most used printers for the Paris Lyon Mediterrannee Railways system during this period. Also Julien Lacaze did many posters for the PLM. Menton is found along the Cote D’Azur between Monte Carlo and Italy. Beautiful and rare poster for one of the premiere destinations in the French Riviera. This is an authentic original printing in lithography from the period by Lucien Serre Printers in Paris who did most of the PLM posters of the period.

Ravello is a historic village perched above Italy’s Amalfi Coast, dating back to the 12th century. One of its famous landmarks is Villa Rufolo, built by a wealthy merchant family in the 1200s. The villa’s medieval architecture blends Greek, Arab, and Moorish influences due to Ravello’s location along Mediterranean trade routes. Villa Rufolo was first mentioned in 1353 in Boccaccio’s Decameron.
Ravello became a popular retreat for artists, musicians, and writers in the late 1800s during the Grand Tour era. Famous visitors included Robert Wagner, who composed part of his Parsifal opera here, as well as Virginia Woolf, D.H. Lawrence, Winston Churchill, and Greta Garbo. Today, Ravello still attracts celebrities seeking privacy on the Amalfi Coast.
The Italian National Tourist Board (ENIT), established in 1919, created posters like this one to promote travel within Italy. This particular poster, featuring Villa Rufolo, was designed by Publio Morbiducci (1889-1963), a noted artist known for his sculptures and designs for Italian currency and the 1936 Olympics.
Chamonix–Strasbourg was created by Roger Broders in 1926 for the PLM (Paris–Lyon–Méditerranée) railway company to promote travel between the French Alps and Alsace. The design features two women in the traditional dress of their respective regions — the wide-brimmed bow headdress of Strasbourg and the alpine attire of Chamonix — standing against a backdrop that links snow-covered peaks to the architectural landmarks of eastern France.
Broders, one of France’s most celebrated travel poster artists, was known for his bold compositions, clear lines, and rich color palettes. This work reflects his signature style of pairing stylized landscapes with strong graphic design to capture the romance of rail travel in the interwar period.
Printed in Paris by Lucien Serre using lithography, this large-format poster has been mounted on linen for preservation and is in excellent “A” condition.

PARIS OPERA ROMEO AND JULIETTE BY MARC CHAGALL 1964
Marc Chagall painted the ceiling of the Paris Opera, officially known as the Palais Garnier, in 1963. His work replaced the original design by Jules-Eugène Lenepveu and was unveiled in 1964. The mural spans 2,400 square feet and celebrates famous composers like Mozart, Wagner, and Debussy. Using vivid colors and dreamlike imagery, Chagall created a striking contrast with the opera’s classical architecture. Initially, some critics felt it clashed with the historic setting, but it later became a beloved feature of the opera house.
In 1969, Chagall designed a travel poster for Air France featuring Romeo and Juliet. The artwork shows the lovers floating in an embrace above a colorful landscape, blending fantasy and romance. His deep blues, reds, and yellows create a dreamlike atmosphere, reflecting France’s cultural richness. Today, this poster remains one of the most well-known travel images linked to his work.

The Gorges cuts through the landscape with impressive cliffs and walkways that look down hundreds of feet. The inset at the top is the famous Chateau de Montrottier which is located in Annecy. It rests on top of the highest point of the town and overlooks the lakes and mountains there. The Montrottiers ruled the region. The poster is quite rare and we have 2 models both a black and white and color model. Both are in unused condition mounted on linen.
