Veneux-les-Sablons – Fontainebleau was created by Prieur circa 1930 for the PLM (Paris–Lyon–Méditerranée) railways to promote travel to the Fontainebleau region. The design, in a strong Art Deco style, shows a vibrant lakeside scene with trees and reflections, evoking the peaceful leisure of this popular retreat just outside Paris.
Veneux-les-Sablons, near the edge of the Fontainebleau forest and close to the Seine, was a favored destination for weekend visitors and artists in the early 20th century. The poster’s bold geometric forms and vivid colors are characteristic of French railway advertising of the interwar years.
Printed in Paris by lithography, this rare example has been mounted on linen and is in excellent “A” condition.

Tunis la blanche — Mosquée de Sidi Youssef was created for the Paris–Lyon–Méditerranée (PLM) railway to promote travel to North Africa. The scene captures the striking white architecture of the Mosque of Sidi Youssef in the heart of Tunis, its minaret rising above the surrounding buildings under a bright sky.
The poster invites travelers to reach Tunis in “36 heures de Marseille par mer” or “6 heures d’Antibes par avion,” highlighting the ease of connection from France. The travel season is given as “octobre–mai,” encouraging visitors to enjoy the city in the cooler months.
Printed by Affiches Moullot in Marseille–Paris using stone lithography, the work combines the clarity of early 20th-century travel advertising with a distinctive view of the medina.
