Original vintage French travel poster issued by the Compagnie Generale Transmediterraneenne (CGT) to promote its “Les Ferries du Soleil” car-ferry services in the mid-1960s. Chapelet’s scene captures a bright Mediterranean port as automobiles drive aboard a modern ferry, with a Triumph TR4A clearly featured in the foreground. The TR4A was produced from 1965 to 1967, which fits neatly with the poster’s circa-1965 dating and period look. The composition is classic Chapelet: clean lines, strong sunlight, and a persuasive emphasis on the ease of crossing by car. This is a very rare CGT ferry poster and is seldom seen on the market.
