The 1975 Monaco Grand Prix took place on May 11 at the Circuit de Monaco in Monte Carlo. It was the fifth race of that year’s 14-round Formula One World Championship. The race was won by Niki Lauda, driving for Ferrari. This marked his first victory at Monaco and Ferrari’s first there since 1955. As a result, the win became a major turning point in Lauda’s career. It was also a key moment in his 1975 season, which ended with him winning the World Championship. Emerson Fittipaldi finished second in a McLaren-Ford, while Carlos Pace placed third in a Brabham-Ford. The race was held in warm, dry conditions. Because of this, it featured relatively few incidents by Monaco standards. The victory was especially significant given the circuit’s narrow layout and tight corners, which demand extreme precision. Notably, Lauda’s Ferrari 312T featured a transverse gearbox. This technical innovation played a crucial role in Ferrari’s return to dominance that season.
