Bouquetiere, Firmin Bouisset (1859 – 1925) 1899
Charming original color lithograph by Firmin Bouisset, published in L’Estampe Moderne in 1899. It depicts a young flower seller holding a bouquet, rendered in Bouisset’s soft, naturalistic Art Nouveau style. Issued as plate no. 20 of the celebrated monthly portfolio L’Estampe Moderne (1897 – 99), printed by Champenois in Paris and distributed by Masson & Piazza. The sheet bears the embossed blindstamp “L’Estampe Moderne / E.M.” in the lower right margin and Bouisset’s printed signature within the image.
