Paul McCartney by Richard Avedon (1967–68) – Original Beatles Pop Art Poster

This is the original 1967–68 Pop Art poster of Paul McCartney, created by photographer Richard Avedon for STERN Magazine in Germany. It is one of four color portraits from the complete Beatles series designed during the peak of the psychedelic era. These are authentic first printings from the original edition, not later reproductions.

In late 1967, Avedon photographed each of the Beatles individually in a London studio he prepared for the project. He later reinterpreted the images using bold color separations, solarization, and symbolic effects to evoke the vivid and experimental spirit of the time. The Paul McCartney portrait, with its kaleidoscopic palette and intricate composition, reflects the optimism and creative energy that defined the Beatles at the close of the decade.
