Walasse Ting – Exhibition Poster, Galerie Adrien Maeght, Paris, 1974
Original color lithographic poster created for the exhibition of works by Walasse Ting at Galerie Adrien Maeght, 42 rue du Bac, Paris 7. This is a period printing, relatively scarce in this format, featuring a striking reproduction of Ting’s work with vibrant, luminous colors. Signed in the plate.
Walasse Ting (1929–2010) was a Chinese-born artist whose work bridges Abstract Expressionism, CoBrA, and Pop Art. After early exhibitions in Hong Kong, he settled in Paris where he associated with artists such as Pierre Alechinsky while remaining independent of any formal movement. His work combines elements of traditional Chinese painting with a modern, expressive, and highly gestural style, often focusing on recurring subjects such as women, horses, and flowers. Ting described himself as an autodidact, working freely between Eastern and Western influences, and was awarded a Guggenheim Fellowship in 1970.
