CESENATICO – Giovanni Guerrini – 1927 – Original Italian travel poster

Original Italian travel poster designed by Giovanni Guerrini in 1927 promoting Cesenatico, the historic Adriatic resort and fishing port on Italy’s Emilia-Romagna coast, just north of Rimini. Guerrini’s bold and highly graphic composition uses striking color and simplified forms to capture the maritime character of this fashionable Italian seaside destination.

During the early 20th century, the traditional fishing port increasingly developed into a popular Adriatic beach resort, making it an ideal subject for the new generation of Italian tourism posters.
