    APPLE iPOD — SILHOUETTE ADVERTISING POSTER — c.2000–2007

    Original large-format advertising poster produced by Apple for the promotion of the iPod. Part of the well-known “silhouette” campaign used internationally during the early 2000s, the design features a black dancing figure holding the distinctive white iPod and headphones set against a vivid brightly colored background. This graphic campaign became one of the most recognizable visual identities associated with Apple and the iPod during its rise in popularity.

    Printed for bus-stop and outdoor advertising displays, these posters were produced in large format on coated poster stock with highly saturated colors intended for high visibility in public spaces. The French-language version reads “10,000 chansons dans la poche. Mac ou PC,” referring to the iPod’s ability to store thousands of songs and its compatibility with both Mac and PC computers.

    The silhouette series appeared in several color variations including green, pink, yellow, and purple. Because these posters were originally produced for outdoor advertising displays, examples preserved in excellent condition are relatively scarce.

  • AUX FABRIQUES DE GENEVE — HEM — 1903 - French Art Nouveau Jewelry poster

    AUX FABRIQUES DE GENEVE — HEM — 1903 – French Art Nouveau Jewelry poster

    $ 1,450

    AUX FABRIQUES DE GENEVE — HEM — 1903

    Original French Art Nouveau advertising poster for Aux Fabriques de Geneve, a jeweler and watch merchant based in La Rochelle. The design features a young woman presented in refined detail above a display of watches, jewelry, and decorative objects. A large ring or cameo-like medallion frames the scene, reinforcing the store’s emphasis on engagement and bridal gifts. The text indicates that the firm manufactured its own goods and offered a catalog available to clients upon request.

    Although the name refers to Geneva, the shop itself operated in La Rochelle. The reference to Geneva likely served to evoke the reputation of Swiss craftsmanship in watchmaking and fine jewelry, suggesting products of comparable quality.

    The artist Hem was active in France during the early twentieth century and produced a small number of advertising posters during the height of the Belle Époque poster movement. His work reflects the decorative elegance typical of the Art Nouveau period.

  • beausoleil french travel poster featuring a sunflower and the old town of Beausoleil next to monte carlo

    Beausoleil – PLM French Railway Poster, c.1900

    $ 750

    Beausoleil – PLM French Railway Poster, c.1900

    Original c.1900 French railway poster for Beausoleil, a resort on the Côte d’Azur, issued by the Paris–Lyon–Méditerranée (PLM) railway company while it was still formally known as the Chemins de Fer de Paris à Lyon et à la Méditerranée. The design, by an anonymous artist, promotes Beausoleil as a premier Mediterranean destination at the turn of the century.

    The poster was produced using chromolithography, a demanding color printing process employed by only a handful of French ateliers around 1900. This technique allowed for richly layered tones and subtle gradients, giving the image a depth not achievable through simpler lithographic methods of the period.

    Highly sought after as both a travel and railway collectible, this example is professionally backed on linen and survives in excellent “A” condition, retaining strong color and sharp detail.

    Bemberg – La fodera che va forte
    Rene Gruau, 1973

    This is an original Italian advertising poster designed by René Gruau for Bemberg, promoting the brand’s rayon jacket linings. The slogan translates roughly as “Bemberg – the lining that goes fast.”

    Gruau depicts motorcyclists wearing jackets opened in motion to reveal vividly colored linings, making the interior fabric the central visual element. Rather than focusing on the motorcycle itself, the image emphasizes movement, style, and the contrast between the outer garment and its lining.

    The poster was part of a campaign that repositioned Bemberg linings from a hidden functional detail to a visible design feature. Gruau’s graphic style—bold shapes, limited palette, and strong sense of motion—fits naturally with the motorcycle theme while remaining rooted in fashion illustration. This work reflects his long involvement with luxury and apparel advertising and is a good example of his later commercial posters.
