    • Sarajevo 1984 Ski Jump – Ismar Mujezinović, Original Olympics Poster

    Original 1984 Sarajevo Winter Olympics poster titled “Gorenje”, designed by Ismar Mujezinović and produced for the official Olympic organizing committee. This work is part of the series of posters commissioned for the XIV Winter Games, each highlighting either a sport or a sponsor associated with the event. Gorenje, one of Yugoslavia’s largest home appliance manufacturers, was a major corporate sponsor of the Sarajevo Olympics, and posters like this celebrated both national industry and international sport.

    The 1984 Winter Olympics were the first held in a socialist and Slavic-speaking country, with Sarajevo hosting athletes from 49 nations. Mujezinović, a Bosnian painter and graphic artist, created multiple official designs for these Games, including dynamic representations of alpine skiing, ski jumping, speed skating, and sponsor-related imagery. His bold, energetic style captured both the athleticism of the sports and the cultural pride of Yugoslavia in presenting itself on the world stage.

    This example was printed as an offset lithograph, professionally mounted on linen, and survives in excellent condition. It remains a significant piece of Olympic history and a collectible from one of the most memorable Games of the 20th century.

  • savoie auriac

    Savoie France travel poster 1960 Jacques Auriac original printing Mont Blanc

    $ 850

    Title: Savoie France – Fêtes du centenaire
    Artist: Auriac
    Date: 1960
    Printer: Société d’Exploitation Etablissements de La Vasselais, Paris
    Size: 27 x 39 inches

    This poster image was used both for celebrating 100 years of Savoie Region and also exists with the title Megeve. You can see its summertime with flowers about but in the background is the famous Mont Blanc which stays white with snow through the whole summer.

    The “célèbre clocher à bulbes” (famous onion-shaped bell tower) in the Savoie region of France refers to the distinct bulbous bell towers found in many churches in the region. These towers, also known as “clochers à bulbes”, are a hallmark of Baroque architecture introduced in the 17th and 18th centuries, especially under the influence of the Counter-Reformation.

    These onion-shaped domes are particularly common in alpine regions, including Savoie, and are a reminder of the strong religious influence in the area. One of the most famous examples in Savoie is the bell tower of the Saint-Martin Church in Saint-Martin-de-Belleville, though many other towns and villages in Savoie feature similar structures.

    Theaterkunst Ausstellung / Zurich — Carl Roesch — 1914

    A striking and rare exhibition poster by Carl Roesch for the Theaterkunst Ausstellung (Theatrical Art Exhibition) held at the Museum of Applied Art in Zurich in 1914. The composition features a contemplative harlequin figure drawing back theater curtains, inviting the viewer behind the scenes into the world of costume and stage design. The image is both poetic and theatrical, capturing the spirit of early 20th-century stage arts with a refined and symbolic approach.

    Carl Roesch (1884–1979), born in Diessenhofen, Switzerland, was a painter, graphic artist, and art teacher who studied fine and applied arts throughout Switzerland and Germany. After returning to his hometown in 1907, he developed a diverse career that included painting, graphic design, and large-scale decorative work such as murals, stained glass, and mosaics. His later work shows influences of Impressionism and Expressionism, while this early poster demonstrates a more structured and geometric approach, bridging his painterly sensibility with the emerging modernist graphic style of the period.

    This design is one of only two known posters created by Roesch for the 1914 Theaterkunst exhibition, making it a particularly rare and important example of Swiss graphic design from the pre-war era. Executed in stone lithography, the poster reflects the highest standards of early 20th-century printing and remains exceptionally well preserved.
