Fountainebleau Avon PLM french railways poster by Julien Lacaze authentic 1930c vintage poster on linen
Beautiful view on to Fontainebleau done in lithography at the Lucien Serre Imprimerie in Paris circa 1930. Lucien Serre was perhaps the most used printers for the Paris Lyon Mediterrannee Railways system during this period. Also Julien Lacaze did many posters for the PLM. Poster is in absolute excellent condition.
GALERIE “65” CANNES (GRASSE) — ROBERT SAVARY — 1975
Original exhibition poster created for Robert Savary at Galerie “65” in Cannes in 1975. The composition presents a landscape view of the region around Grasse on the French Riviera, rendered in Savary’s characteristic figurative style with attention to color, light, and atmosphere.
Robert Savary (1920–2000) was a French painter, engraver, and illustrator associated with the School of Paris. Trained at the Ecole des Beaux-Arts in Paris, he developed a body of work focused on landscapes, still lifes, and scenes of rural life, often depicting the French countryside with clarity and balance. In addition to his paintings, Savary was active as a printmaker and book illustrator.
This poster was printed by Atelier Mourlot in Paris, one of the leading lithographic studios of the twentieth century, known for producing exhibition posters for major artists and galleries.

Grand Hotel Regoledo – Aldo Mazza – RICORDI PORTFOLIO — c.1910
Lithographic plate reproducing the poster design Grand Hotel Regoledo by Aldo Mazza issued as part of the well-known Ricordi Portfolio. This series presented a selection of important poster designs printed by the Ricordi publishing house during the height of the Italian poster movement between the late nineteenth and early twentieth centuries. The portfolio gathered together small-format reproductions of these works and was distributed internationally in the early twentieth century.
Casa Ricordi of Milan, originally a music publisher closely associated with the Italian opera world, developed a major lithographic printing workshop in the late nineteenth century. Through its printing department the firm produced posters for music, theatre, and commercial clients and became a central force in the development of the Italian poster. The artists working with Ricordi helped define the Italian version of Art Nouveau, often referred to as Stile Liberty.
Aldo Mazza was one of the principal designers associated with Ricordi. His posters and illustrations are recognized for their elegant compositions and refined color work, and he contributed numerous designs for theatre, publishing, and advertising.

Original advertising poster promoting travel to Hawaii, produced by United Air Lines as part of a series of contemporary destination posters issued in the early 2000s. The design by Coco Masuda features a playful tropical scene with a mermaid playing a ukulele set against the colors of a sunset over the ocean. The illustration reflects the relaxed island atmosphere and musical traditions associated with Hawaiian culture.
United Air Lines commissioned a number of artists to create this series of destination posters highlighting regions served by the airline. Each poster interprets its location through contemporary illustration while recalling the spirit of classic airline travel advertising.

Original stone lithograph poster by Hugo D’Alesi promoting travel to Italy via the St. Gotthard railway route. Issued circa 1900, the poster was printed in Paris by Ateliers Hugo D’Alesi for the Chemins de Fer. The composition presents a view toward Italy with Mount Vesuvius shown active in the distance. A female figure dressed in period costume stands in the foreground, while surrounding vignettes depict views of the lakes of the Swiss Alps. D’Alesi produced numerous railway posters during this period, later working extensively for PLM and creating large-scale decorative murals for train stations. This example measures 30 x 41.5 inches and has been professionally mounted on linen. It is in excellent “A” condition.

THE LADY IS DRESSED IN THE COSTUME OF THE DAY. THE VIGNETTES ARE VIEWS OF THE LAKES IN THE SWISS ALPES. HUGO D’ALESI WAS A MASTER ARTIST WHO DID A LARGE BODY OF WORKS FOR THE CHEMINS DE FER AND LATER PLM INCLUDING MURALES AT TRAIN STATIONS. GREAT STUFF.

Original exhibition poster created for Les Saisons by Dany Lartigue at Galerie Tallien in St Tropez in 1975. The composition reflects Lartigue’s light and imaginative style, with imagery inspired by the landscape and atmosphere of the French Riviera.
Dany Lartigue (1921–2017), son of photographer Jacques Henri Lartigue, developed a body of work centered on nature, color, and poetic interpretation of the environment. He lived for many years in St Tropez, where he established a home museum that included his artwork as well as an extensive collection of butterfly specimens. His work often conveys a strong connection to the natural surroundings of the region.
This poster was produced for an exhibition at Galerie Tallien, a gallery known for presenting posters and illustration in the South of France.

Menton is found along the Cote D’Azur between Monte Carlo and Italy. Beautiful and rare poster for one of the premiere destinations in the French Riviera. This is an authentic original printing in lithography from the period by Lucien Serre Printers in Paris who did most of the PLM posters of the period.
