    Snobisme – Henri de Toulouse-Lautrec – 1897

An original lithographic cover from the French humor magazine Le Rire, issue no. 129, published on 14 April 1897. Titled Snobisme, the composition was designed by Henri de Toulouse-Lautrec during one of the most productive periods of his career. Le Rire was among the leading illustrated satirical magazines of the Belle Époque and frequently featured original artwork by many of the era’s most important artists. Although issued as a magazine cover rather than as a separately published poster, examples have become increasingly desirable for their artistic quality, historical importance, and direct association with Toulouse-Lautrec’s celebrated graphic work.
