This poster image was used both for celebrating 100 years of Savoie Region and also exists with the title Megeve. You can see its summertime with flowers about but in the background is the famous Mont Blanc which stays white with snow through the whole summer.
The “célèbre clocher à bulbes” (famous onion-shaped bell tower) in the Savoie region of France refers to the distinct bulbous bell towers found in many churches in the region. These towers, also known as “clochers à bulbes”, are a hallmark of Baroque architecture introduced in the 17th and 18th centuries, especially under the influence of the Counter-Reformation.
These onion-shaped domes are particularly common in alpine regions, including Savoie, and are a reminder of the strong religious influence in the area. One of the most famous examples in Savoie is the bell tower of the Saint-Martin Church in Saint-Martin-de-Belleville, though many other towns and villages in Savoie feature similar structures.

Tunis la blanche — Mosquée de Sidi Youssef was created for the Paris–Lyon–Méditerranée (PLM) railway to promote travel to North Africa. The scene captures the striking white architecture of the Mosque of Sidi Youssef in the heart of Tunis, its minaret rising above the surrounding buildings under a bright sky.
The poster invites travelers to reach Tunis in “36 heures de Marseille par mer” or “6 heures d’Antibes par avion,” highlighting the ease of connection from France. The travel season is given as “octobre–mai,” encouraging visitors to enjoy the city in the cooler months.

Téléphérique Du Mont Veyrier – Lac D’Annecy – 1939 – Henry Reb
This beautiful 1939 French travel poster by Henry Reb promotes the Téléphérique du Mont Veyrier overlooking Lake Annecy in the French Alps.
The colorful composition combines several of the region’s great attractions: the cable car climbing to the mountaintop hotel and restaurant, a sweeping panorama toward Mont Blanc, and the famous paddle steamer La France crossing Lake Annecy below.
The Mont Veyrier cable car carried visitors from the lakeshore to spectacular panoramic views above Annecy and remained in operation until the 1980s. Created shortly after the formation of the SNCF, the poster captures the elegance and optimism of French Alpine tourism just before World War II. A wonderful image of Lake Annecy combining mountains, lake, cable car and classic French travel.
