Original vintage French lithograph travel poster for Cannes by SEM (Georges Goursat). This elegant horizontal composition promotes the famed resort town on the Cote d’Azur, depicting a stylized coastal view framed by lush Mediterranean foliage, with bold “CANNES” lettering emphasizing the destination’s prestige.
By the 1930s, Cannes had become a major summer destination, attracting an international, well-heeled clientele to its casinos, promenades, beaches, and refined social life. The poster captures the glamour and appeal of the Riviera during this period of growing tourism.
Georges Goursat (1863–1934), known as SEM, was a celebrated French caricaturist and illustrator. Born into a privileged background, he was closely familiar with high society and often depicted its lifestyle with wit and sophistication, bringing a distinctive observational quality to his work.

The poster was made for the French public for travel on the PLM railways to Geneva. The view includes the Water Jet and view on to the town. RARE and in perfect condition.

San Salvadour near the port of Hyeres in the south of France not far from Saint Tropez, there is a station d’hiver to go to undertake cures for Arthritis, beaute and health. With its mineral water source it was a destination for Parisians at the turn of the century as part of the PLM French Railways system. Hugo D’Alesi is the artist and also the printer for the PLM. Excellent and rare.
