Original serigraph poster created by Japanese artist Tadashi Kawamata for the 1997 Festival d’Automne in Paris. Printed by the renowned Atelier Caza / Imprimerie Graficaza, Paris, the poster promoted the annual Paris arts festival featuring theatre, music, cinema, dance and exhibitions.
Born in Hokkaido in 1953, Tadashi Kawamata is known internationally for his large-scale architectural and environmental installations. Major projects and exhibitions include Destroyed Church at Documenta in Kassel (1987), Working Progress in Alkmaar (1996–99), Le passage des Chaises for the Festival d’Automne in Paris (1997), and Tokyo in Progress (2010–2013).
