Original plate Cacao Lacté by Lucien Lefèvre, published as part of the Les Maîtres de l’Affiche series. Issued between 1895 and 1899, the series presented reduced-format stone lithographs of the most important posters of the Belle Époque. Subscribers received four plates each month, printed by the Imprimerie Chaix in Paris under the direction of Jules Chéret.
Lucien Lefèvre (active late 19th–early 20th century) was a French poster artist whose commercial designs promoted food, drink, and consumer goods of the period. His work reflects the decorative spirit and vibrant color of fin-de-siècle advertising.
Printed at Chaix in Paris, this plate measures 11 × 16 in. (28 × 40.6 cm). It has been professionally mounted on linen and is preserved in excellent “A” condition.
